KalaChana Masala/Senagala Talimpu

  • Blackchanna/Kala channa-1 cup(Soaked in water for whole night)
  • Green chilies-2 (finely chopped)
  • Onion-1 (Finely chopped)
  • Cilantro/Kothimeer-few handfuls to garnish
  • Dry coconut powder/Fresh coconut powder-2tsp
  • salt to taste
  • Carrot-1 grated
  • Lemon juice-2tsp
  • Turmeric-a pinch (Optional)
For seasoning:

  • Oil-2tsp
  • Aavalu-1tsp
  • Cumin seeds-1tsp
  • Dry red chilli-1
  • Curyleaves-3
  • Boil the soaked Black channa in avessel or in the pressure Cooker (for 4 whistles) by adding sufficient water and salt.
  • Boil them till they become soft and keep it aside to get cool.
  • Now Heat a pan ,add oil to it.
  • Add Aavalu,Cumin seeds when they start crackles, add Green chillies,turmeric,Dry redchilli in to it and turn with a Spatula or Cooking Stick.
  • Now add these Tadka to the Cooled Kalachana.
  • Take it in to a bowl and garnish with coconut,carrot and Cilantro
  • Serve it by sprinkling Lemonjuice on the Top and enjoy.
  • You can offer this dish as "Naivedyam".And do not add onions.
