Shri Swarna Kavachaalankara Kanaka Durga Devi

Swarna Khachitha Durga Devi is the Alankaram of Kanakadurga decorated to the main Idol on the first day during Durga Navratri 2010. This alankaram is worshipped on October 8th in 2010 on Kalasha Sthapana day, Ashwayuja Shudda Padyami. Goddess is worn several gold ornaments like Haaram (big necklace).Swarna Kachita Durga holds a Trishul (Trident) in her right hand. Devotees throng to the temple on this day because it is the installation day of Durga Navaratri Puja.

How the Goddess got the Name Durga?
Bhavani Maata is also Called as Durga.Long days ago, some Maharshi's questioned to Suuthu Maharashi to expalin the reason ,why we call Kanaka Durga as Durga. Then he expalins the short story.

A daemon by name "Durgudu" was killed by Goddess,so she got the name Durga and being called by all of us.All cannot gain and reach Parasakthi.(energy or power). It is very difficult to reach and gain.So we call her Durga. If we pray her with few restrictions ,she blesses us and she feels happy. Those who pray her she gifts or bless with Wealth,Articles,Vehicles etc( Kanaka Vasthu Vaahanam). So ,she became Kanaka Durga. From the Goddess Durga devi, some  Durga sakthis also came by her divine (Divya mayina) grace. They are:
  1. Saila Putri
  2. Brahma Chaarini
  3. Kuushmaandi
  4. Chandraghanta
  5. Skandha maatha
  6. Kathyayini
  7. Kaalaraathri
  8. Sarvasiddhi
  9. Bhairavi
These nine forms are called as Nava Durgas. And if we pray to them all means we will be blessed with happiness forever.
