Children's Day

On November 14th , in India and many parts ,the day is very important for the Children & is Celebrated as "Children's Day" on the basis of Jawaharlal Nehru's Birthday and he is well known us all as  "Cha Cha Nehru".This day pays tribute to Nehru's love & passion for children.

This days marks as a very important to every Children and each & every child enjoys their roles in different activities like singing, dancing, painting ,Elocution competitions etc according to their age level.I have passed my child-hood days & Celebrations at my Education during this day.Now It was the time of My kid to know about all the festivals and celebrations .As we are Living in the Torrance (C.A) ,my boy does not know any National Festivals & Celebrations being done at India. So to know him about all the Important days ,I am trying my best and explaining the Importance & the History  based on my past Knowledge at the time of my School & College Education & How I participated in School Programs .I am feeling happy with my Kid for this Children's Day because While I am telling the story about "Pt.Jawaharlal Nehru " and the Tradition of Children for this day,he immediately asked me to dress himself as a "Nehru" when he saw the School children dressed Like Nehru.Really Felt great for his thought.I dressed him like "Chacha " & I always like  to follow Indian Tradition  & National Festivals from my  child-hood & many doubts have being asked to my Mother to explain.Again with my 3yrs boy ,I am enjoying these days by remembering & sharing with him and with all of You.So ,here goes my Cute Boy photos on Children's Day.

Dasara Celebrations

Hi Friends,Hope all of you have enjoyed the Navartari Festival with all of your family members.I also celebrated this year very interestingly and Happily.Last year ,I am being new to Torrance,Unable to enjoy the Festival mood with my small kid. This year my boy didn't trouble me So,I performed the Festival like the way How I followed since from my Child-hood days at Vijayawada.I got early in the morning and did Kumkum Pooja by dropping the Kumkum in the plate & reading the Ashtotram to the Goddess dedicated to a Particular Alamkaram.Sang Harati songs & Cooked Naivedyam Varieties daily and I distributed Prasadam to my friends who stays in my appartment and near by my home.on first Sunday of Navaratri ,I hosted Lalitha Sahasranamam Pooja in my home with my friends. It was done very nicely and all my friends felt happy for being invited them and made them reading along with me.I observed fasting and had food at night.Daily enjoyed reading Stotrams,Ashtotrams, listening & Seeing the T.V .Channel news about the Dasara Celebrations at places of India & having a look of Darshan at Vijayawada Kanaka Durga Temple .And ,I myself was full busy daily in posting the details of Alamkarams & Naivedyam food for the Festival.Hindupad & Other Internet resources made me helpful to search and Post for all of You about the Content.I am very thankful to the Hindupad very much.My unforgettable thing is ,I tried Chakkera Pongali ,Kadambam Annam & Pulagam for this Dasara for the First time.I never tried after my Marriage, this year for Navaratri,I cooked for Goddess Naivedyams  and it turned really in to a good taste.I enjoyed very much wearing the new clothes and getting ready to distribute Prasadam to my friends.Missing is only Festive Environment in India &my Parents.I visited to Shiridi Sai Baba Temple at Montebello (C.A) for Baba's Punyathidi Celebrations &; took part in singing Songs with all devotees & attended Haarati in the afternoon.I felt very happy. With the help of my Cooking Blog,I am able to share my memories and happiness with all of you.And you can also have a look towards my Dasara Festival Snaps too.

My Little Krishna From U.S

Hi friends,On the eve of  Lord "Sri Krishna" Birthday i.e; Sri Krishna Janmashtaami,I decorated my kid as Small "Krishna" with dressing him by all Jewels, and Dhoti by Using Chunni.I am unable to get the Peacock-leaf to my Little Krishna (Neelesh) .So I did it by using a small paper ,coloring with colors and Kum-Kum for shining .My preparation went well and good.I pasted the Coloured paper to a small card-board piece ,with a glue, and on the bottom I inserted a Tooth pick for support .This made me to put on my boy hair. I had the foot prints of my kid Neelesh with Rice-flour paste,He visited some of my friends home and offered them Sweet Butter Balls. He was enjoyed the sounds of Flute made by him .So I would like to share my Little Krishna snaps of the day with all my Blog -Readers,Friends and Family members.I hope You would enjoy these Snaps.

Rakhi

Hi Friends, I hope you all have tied "Rakhis" to your Brothers and enjoyed their return gifts.I too enjoyed great and Celebrated with my brothers who are staying near by my home.Though I missed my own brothers for this Occasion first time living in Torrance; I had a great opportunity by these brothers to tie Rakhis which I bought it  them from " India" .So I would Like to share my snaps of the day and Moments with all of my Friends and Readers.
I prepared a Greeting Card of my own by writing a Message to my Brothers and kept it in an Envelope. In that Envelope, I had put them  a  Cashew nut,Almond & Raisin covered with a piece of Silver paper. Here is my Card:

I made 'Aloo Baath' &;  'Gulab Jamun' for my Sweet Brothers. All my brothers reached my home in the evening and I made them to have seated in a chair, applied kumkum (bottu) on their face and tied "Rakhi" on the wrist and tasted their mouth with sweet. And I had Blessings from them.My Brothers felt very Happy for tying threads to them. Moreover they gave me nice gifts .Those are Handbags and Fancy Neck chain. After my treat ,while they are leaving from my home ;I said "Bye Bye" Brothers by giving them my Envelope. They were surprised what's this?Next day morning I got Compliments from them saying words as "So Sweet Of U" & "Thank U" sister. These moments made me really Happy and Unforgettable.Have a Look towards my Brothers......
