Short Story - RAma






Adhau rAma tapovanAdigamanam hatvA mrugam kAnchanam
vaidehI-haraNam jaTAyu-maraNam sugrIva sambhAShaNam

paschAd rAvaNa kumbhakarNahananam etaddhi rAmAyaNam

Meaning:

Once Rama went to the forest,
He chased the deer,
Sitha was kidnapped,
Jatayu was killed, There were talks with Sugreeva,
Bali was killed,
The sea was crossed,
Lanka was burnt,
And later Ravana and Kumbha karna,
Were also killed.
This in short is the story of Ramayanam.

Mirchi -Ka- Salan


Ingredients
  • For Preparing Masala:
  • 4 tbsp peanuts -4tbsp
  • 3 tbsp sesame seeds -3 tbsp
  • 1 tsp poppy seeds - 1tsp
  • 2 tbsp dry coconut -2tbsp
  • 1-inch ginger - 1 inch
  • 2 cloves garlic - 2 cloves
  • ½ tsp Garam Masala -1/2 tsp 
  • ½ tsp turmeric -1/2tsp
  • Chilli Powder-1 tsp
  • fenugreek seeds -5
  • ½ cup water, as required to blend
  • other ingredients:
  • 6 green chilis, less hot
  • 5 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds/jeera
  • few curry leaves/Kadi Patta
  • ½ medium-sized onion, finely chopped
  • ½ cup tamarind water
  • salt to taste
  • ½ tsp jaggery / gud, optional
  • 2 cups water, as required to adjust consistency
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves, finely chopped
Instructions
  1. firstly, dry roast peanuts, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, and coconut.
  2. Transfer to a small blender and allow it to cool completely.
  3. also add ginger and garlic, garam masala, turmeric and chili powder, methi seeds.
  4. Add water as required and blend to smooth paste. keep aside.
  5. in a kadai heat oil and fry de-seeded green chili. keep aside.
  6. now add cumin and curry leaves.
  7. furthermore, add onions and saute.
  8. Add prepared masala paste, tamarind water, jaggery and salt.
  9. Mix well and add 2 cups of water.
  10. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
  11. further place the fried chilis into salan and also add coriander leaves.
  12. cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
  13. finally, serve mirchi ka salan with biryani or roti.

Devi Navaratrulu


 Durga Navaratri at KanakaDurga temple of Vijayawada is a grand festival for the temple. Dasara Sharan Navaratri Utsavalu 2020 starts on October 17th and ends on October 25th with Dasara (Vijaya Dashami).

With Kalasha Sthapana Pooja, Celebrations will start at the temple. 

On concluding day, Vijaya Dashami, Durga is worshiped in Sri Rajarajeshwari Devi Alankaram.

On Vijaya Dashami, the Navaratri celebrations will be concluded with Teppotsavam when KankaDurga is taken out for a procession in the river Krishna.
