Spinach Pakodi / Palak Pakora ~ Spinach Fritters


Hi Friends,When the Climate is cold and the day is rainy means ,we may like to taste any hot hot snack item for the evening time.Ofcourse ,I too like to eat if the climate is cold.At India,my Mom used to prepare potato bajji,Chilli Bajji or any other pakodi/Pakora.Sometimes ,in India I used to purchase these Bajji's near the stalls and Carts.So friends yesterday ,in Torrance the day was full of cold breeze and raining.I was tempted to eat any hot snack item in the evening.I made my choice to do Spinack pakora.So friends ,if you are craving for the Pakora ,you can have Palak pakora and even by this way atleast we can consume the healthy palak and without comprising the taste ,Palak pakora are delicious too.Here goes my recipe.

Ingredients:
  •  Palak/Spinach - 1 cup (washed & Chopped)
  • Onion- 1 chopped
  • Redchilipowder-1/2tsp
  • Besan powder/Chick pea flour/Gram flour/Senaga pandi-2cups
  • Rice flour/Varipindi/Biyyampindi-1/2cup
  • Ajwaiin/Vaamu-1/2tsp
  • Oil to deep fry
  • Salt to taste
  • Water-little
Preparation:
  • Take a large bowl.
  • Add the Besan powder,Riceflour,salt ,ajwaiin,chillipowder and palak.
  • Mix them well with hands.
  • Add very little water to bind them,already the Onions and Spinach leaves contains some moisture,more water is not needed,the mixture should be thick such that round balls can be made from it.
  • Take Kadai/Cooking pan,heat it with oil.
  • Once the oil gets heat,change the gas in to medium flame.
  • Drop small portions of Palak mixture in theoil.Fry these fritters till it turns in to nice golden in color.
  • Turn the bothsides while frying as needed.
  • Drain these Pakoras in to a paper towel and serve hot with spicy powder or with tomato ketchup along with a cup ot Tea.
