Vermicelli Yogurt


This dish varies like how we prepare " Daddojanam " with rice.I tried with Semiya/Vermicelli  for the Thursday Naivedyam to  Lord "Shiridi  Sai Baba" .So friends U would also try this Item and enjoy .

Ingredients:
  • Semiya/Vermicelli-2 cups
  • Curd-2cups
  • Boiled water-2 1/2 cups
  • Salt  to taste
  • Green chillies-5 no
  • Ginger- 1 inch
  • Pepper powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Red Chilies-
  • Oil-1/2 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves- to garnish
  • Grated Carrot-to garnish
Seasoning:
  • Oil-1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds-1/2 tsp
  • Chana dal-1/2 tsp
  • Curryleaves-6
  • Red chillies-3 splits
  • Hing- a pinch
Cooking Method:
  • Chop the Green chillies and Ginger,Keep it aside.
  • Take 1 tbsp oil in a pan and add all the seasoning after the oil gets heated.
  • Add chopped ginger ,Green chillies ,red chilies ,Curryleaves and let them roast .
  • Finally add Curryleaves ,Hing and pepper powder and turn off the flame and keep it aside.
  • Meanwhile roast semiya in a Kadai.
  • Take a pan or vessel add 1/2 tsp oil and heat it,once it done add the boiled water and put the gas in a lowflame .
  • Dip the Dry roast semiya in to the water and stir it inorder semiya do not stick eachother.
  • Once the Vermicelli cooked and becomes soft ,Immediately run coldwater over it.
  • Drain all the water.
  • Now add this semiya to the seasoning pan and cook it  for a while.
  • Remove it From pan and Let it Cool.
  • Now add the Curd/Yogurt to this Semiya seasoning and adjust with little salt.
  • Mix up well and granish with Kothimeer/Coriander leaves and Grated Carrot.
  • Serve it in to a bowl  with Chilling .
Note:
  • You can add a few seedless grapes and 2tsp of sweet Pomegranate seeds on the top and serve it for kids.
