"Aavada" is a Yummy dish of South India,Usually prepared by making it with Urad dal Vada ,soaked in a sour Yogurt with the spicy chillies and Ginger.Especially this is also one kind of Festive food for Son-in-laws in India.After my Marriage,me and Pradeep Garu (Husband) went to my Mom's place for the "Vinayaka Chavithi " festival.That day we came to know that my Husband wont eat the Vada made with Urad dal.So my mom did Bread Aavada for her Son-in-law.It was good taste.I was surprised that we can also have the "Perugu Bread " in the same way like "Perugu Aavada".So I learned this from my Mother;very easy and simple .So posting this to all of you to try and taste.
Ingredients:
- Bread pieces- 4
- Curd- 1 cup (Sour / Sweet is optional)
- Butter- to roast breads
- Jeera powder- a pinch
- Coriander powder- a pinch
- Green Chillies-2 no small
- Ginger- 1/2 inch
- Cumin seeds/Jeera/Jeela karra-1/2 tsp
- Salt to taste
For Garnishing:
- Grated Carrot
- Cilantro/Kothimeer/Coriander leaves
Cooking Method:
- Remove the edges of the bread and keep it a side.
- Take a Tava or Non stick pan ,heat it and roast the breads applying a little butter and keep it a side.
- You can also roast the breads using Toaster .
- Now take a mixy jar,add salt,Jeera,green chilies,sugar and ginger ;turn it to form a fine paste.
- Take a large bowl or vessel ,pour curd and churn it to form a liquid form.
- Add the Grinded paste and mix well.
- Now cut the Roasted breads with Knife in to small pieces and dip it in the Curd paste.
- Sprinkle Coriander and Jeera powder on the top.
- Garnish with Carrot and Coriander leaves.
- Tasty.... Tasty Bread Yogurt is ready to serve !!!
Notes:
- To make kids more tasty ,while serving in a bowl add dry fruits on the top.
- You can also add Sweet Pomegranate seeds for them.
