Today is the Firstday of Navaratri ,the Goddess Kanakadurga at Vijayawada temple is worshipped with the avatar /alankaaram "Sri SwarnaKavachalankarankruthaDurgaDevi ".I did my pooja well in the early morning and did Kumkum pooja by reading the Devi Khadgamaala sthotram & prepared my firstday Naivedyam items as Vadapappu,Paanakam,Chalimidi and Pulagamu & offered to God.People and devoteed ,those who Visited Vijayawada KanakaDurga temple,you can also have a look of vessel containg this pulagamu in the right hand and being blessed to all.I saw this in the Tv9 Telugu news channel and My mother also said about these information.So I like to know you all about my cooking procedure of Pulagamu Recipe.
Ingredients:
- Rice -1 cup
- Black pepper corns- 6
- Moongdal/Pesarapappu-2tbsp
- Curryleaves-4
- Cuminseeds-1/2tsp
- Ghee-2tbsp
- Water-3cups
- Salt-1/2tsp
Procedure:
- Clean the rice & moongdal with water.
- Soak the rice and moongdal in water separately for atleast 15minutes.
- Now take a pan ,add the ghee and heat it.
- Add the cuminseeds and Pepper corns,when they starts popping add the curryleaves and keep this seasoning aside.
- Now take a vessel/pressure cooker,add 3cups of water and salt .Let it boil for few minutes.
- When the water rolls ,drain all the water from moongdal and Rice which was kept for soaking and add it.
- Now shift the seasoning also and cover it with lid and cook til it turns soft.
- Allow to cook for 3whistles in the pressure cooker.
- Take it in to a bowl and offer to Goddess .
- Eat and Partake the prasadam .
